The Phraselator by Marine Acoustics is shown at the Embedded Systems Conference in San Francisco, April 22, 2003. The Phraselator is a Microsoft CE based device that works as a portable translator using speech recognition. The operator speaks a phrase into the unit and it outputs the appropriate recorded translation through a speaker. <B>Several hundred of the units are being used by U.S. Troops in Afghanistan and Iraq.    REUTERS/Jeff Christensen
