Dit topic is afgeleid van de Sierra/High Sierra post. Zoals aldaar vermeld heeft mijn MBP vaak last van loeiende fans en is de batterij steeds heet. Zo heet dat de hele casing warm wordt van de laptop. Nu ik dit typ zijn mijn palmen en vingertoppen warm van het typen.

Reeds lange tijd was mijn batterij steeds heel snel leeg. Op een bepaald moment kreeg ik ook meldingen dat deze vervangen moest worden. Dit heb ik vorig jaar september dan ook gedaan. Via Macbook-accu.nl de volgende besteld en geinstalleerd: A1322 batterij 13 inch MacBook Pro A1278 (Extra vermogen).

Extra vermogen merkte ik helemaal niks van, de MBP werd nog steeds warm, loeiende fans, en even snel leeg.

Nu ben ik net naar High Sierra overgestapt en heb er een SSD ingezet. De batterij gaat langer mee. Dat is zeker merkbaar. Maar, niet langer dan 1-1,5 uur.

In het andere topic werd voorgesteld een Etrecheck te doen, die zit hier in de bijlage. Er staan een aantal dingen op waar ik nogal van sta te kijken. Vooral oude software die ik al jaren niet gebruik (unsigned files en launch daemons). Ik had geen idee dat dit nog rondzweefde, zeker niet na een clean install High Sierra. Time Machine zal al de crap me terug gekopieerd hebben.

Wat raden jullie aan op basis van dit rapport?

Even de inhoud van Etrecheck hier neerzetten, niet iedereen is er van gediend een vreemd bestand te openen.

Mijn advies zou zijn om ook even met coconutBattery te kijken wat de status van de accu is.

Even de inhoud van Etrecheck hier neerzetten, niet iedereen is er van gediend een vreemd bestand te openen.

Ik zou in eerste instantie nogmaals een schone installatie doen en daarna alleen je documenten terugzetten. Dit kan met Migratie-Assistent of met Time Machine. Je EtreCheck niet er écht niet uit als een Clean Install.

Links achteraan zit o.a de processor, en die wordt warm als ie veel te doen heeft. Misschien kun je de mac een tijd laten draaien en in activiteitenweergave kijken welke processen er voor een hoog CPU gebruik zorgen. Ook gaat het hier om een oude CPU, die nu in 2020 veel harder moet werken dan vroeger om alles draaiende te houden en dat kost hem zichtbaar & voelbaar moeite. Ook kun je kijken of de fan misschien vol met stof zit?

Je Etrecheck is een rommeltje waar ik nog moet op studeren, maar ik zie daar bij kruislezen geen echt vergif in zitten. Je hebt echter duidelijk géén clean install achter de rug...

Maar: MMCS, rij je met een Mitsubishi? Diens navigatieprogramma werkt blijkbaar niet meer en brengt je Macje duidelijk in de war.

Klopt, Fixar! Al sinds de PowerBooks heeft de batterij al aan de voorzijde gezeten, zeg maar onder de space bar.

Klopt natuurlijk! Ik had de laptop omgedraaid liggen toen ik de SSD installeerde vorige week.  Ik ging automatisch van batterij uit omdat die altijd zo snel leeg is.

Verder nog nooit met een Mitsubishi gereden, en mijn MBP nog nooit voor iets dergelijks gebruikt.

Ik denk dat ik te veel oude crap heb terug gezet met Time Machine. Ik voer morgen een nieuwe clean install uit waarbij ik alleen de documenten terug zet. Vorige keer ook programma's en user files terug geplaatst.

Bij deze ook een screenshot van Activity Monitor.

Backupd(aemon) vreet 49,6 % van 1 CPU core. Dat is niet normaal, wacht even met herinstalleren.
IMHO is Spotlight nog aan het indexeren of zoiets.

En wat gebeurt er als je het Process ID 'backupd" gewoon force quit via de stopknop van Activiteitenweergave? En herstart? Brute actie, toegegeven...

Ik was net begonnen (30 sec geleden) een nieuwe TM backup te maken toen ik het screenshot pakte. Normaal is dat niet zo hoog. Bij deze een nieuw screenshot. Tevens eentje van Fan Control. Blijkt dat het de batterij toch niet is.

Activiteitenweergave lijkt nu in orde, maar WTF is er aan de hand met 3 van je CPU cores, allemaal 90 centigrade?

Haha ja dat is het probleem. En nu viel het nog wel mee toen ik het sceenshot maakte, want ik had net opnieuw opgestart. Ik kon er mijn hand nog een tijdje opleggen van achteren, soms als ik al een paar uurtjes aan het werk ben lukt dat niet altijd lang. De fans waren ook niet echt aan het blazen. De casing van de laptop is normalieter warm bij mij...

Ik zou de onderkant er af schroeven en écht zeker willen weten dat de accu heet wordt terwijl de thermometer anders aangeeft. Wanneer dat zo is wordt de boel voor de gek gehouden... Je kunt de MacBook tijdens dit testen even op de zijkant zetten, dan kun je én het scherm zien én de accu kortstondig even checken op temperatuur.

Ik ben ook benieuwd hoe de MacBook functioneert zonder MagSafe adapter aangesloten.

Nee, helaas heb ik geen idee. In je Activiteitenweergave screenshot zie ik ook geen op hol geslagen proces.
Misschien tijd om eens in de Console logs te gaan graven- als je erbij kan gezien de malfunctie...
Nu ja, van Console Logs krijg je grijze haren hoor!

In elk geval zijn je CPU cores, GPU en periferen véél te heet! Deze waarden kunnen gewoonweg niet zonder zware belasting. Na pas opstarten zijn deze waarden zeker ongehoord!

Backupd(aemon) neemt ook nog teveel van je CPU in beslag.
Zet in Systeemvoorkeuren om te testen Time Machine eens gewoon af. Als je snel genoeg kan ingrijpen, gezien de malfunctie.

Bij het herbekijken van je Etrecheck zie ik ook een anomalie in je Sudoers file.
Single User Do zit diep in je systeem ( Root rechten). Mogelijk een bug:

Mss. heeft dit er niks mee te maken, maar het is wél verdacht.

Probeer ook eens op te starten in Veilige Modus ( "shift" indrukken bij opstart). Doet ie dat?
