Ik draai al een paar jaar systeem 10.12.6 op een oude imac van begin 2009. Dat kan dankzij een gekraakt systeem. Het ging goed, tot vandaag.
Ik kreeg twee vastlopers kort na elkaar en heb toen een serie onderhoudsprogrammaś gedraaid, of wat ik daarvoor aanzie: CleanmyMac, schijfEHBO, Diskwarrior en Yasu.

Toen ging het mis. Als ik opstart werken USB-apparaten niet meer, waaronder muis en toetsenbord. Ik kreeg een melding in beeld waarin stond dat ik via de Terminal csrutil disable moet ingeven en daarna herstarten. Dat heb ik gedaan. Als ik Option-opstart krijg ik de keuzes tussen de interne harde schijf (10.11.6) en de ingebouwde SSD die eigenlijk mijn opstartschijf moet zijn (10.12.6). 10.11 werkt op zich, maar in een onbruikbare interface. Bij 10.12.6 blijkt de csrutil disable niet gewerkt te hebben.

Het is een ingewikkeld verhaal, ik hoop dat ik het probleem toch duidelijk heb kunnen maken en dat jullie een uitweg weten. Erg bedankt voor het meedenken!

Oh oh, Yasu is verouderd, DiskWarrior in een verouderde versie is ronduit gevaarlijk, en CleanMyMac, tja...
Die tooltjes heb je toch allemaal niet nodig?

Enne: als je bij Option-start geen Recovery partitie ziet gaat
csrutil disableNIET werken.

Sip afschakelen gaat namelijk niet op een actief systeem.

De grote vraag is waarom je die melding kreeg?
Daar heb ik nog nooit van gehoord....

het csrutil-commando is een commando dat je ALLEEN mag gebruiken als je precies weet waar je mee bezig bent.
Je schakelt er namelijk een belangrijke beveiliging mee uit. Geen idee of er tegenwoordig al malware is die zegt dat je dat commando moet uitvoeren in de hoop dat je dat doet en daarmee de malware toegang geeft tot het systeem?

Adviezen van de anderen zijn duidelijk: Ga maar herinstalleren, het klinkt alsof je de boel behoorlijk in puin hebt liggen.

Wijze les: NOOIT zomaar terminal-commando's uitvoeren die je niet begrijpt!

Zie nu dat het een niet ondersteund macOS is. Dus zo ff opnieuw installeren kan dan niet.
Nou ja, dan zal het wel een heel gedoe worden dit weer in orde te krijgen; succes.

Voor de reacties. Ik heb meermalen geprobeerd om via de herstelschijf een vers systeem (10.11) te plaatsen. Dan leek het te lukken, maar op het laatste moment volgde de melding dat er geen systeem geplaatst kan worden. Zelfs nadat ik handmatig het gecrashte systeem had verwijderd en de prullenbak geleegd. Dit snap ik helemaal niet.
Nu denk ik Time Machine te gebruiken, maar ik zie op tegen het feit dat de schijf dan compleet wordt gewist en opnieuw geinstalleerd. Voor de zekerheid (...) maak ik al uren een extra, rechtstreekse, back-up van mijn bestanden op een externe schijf die alleen met usb werkt.

Hoe maak je die rechtstreekse backup?
Enne: weet je zeker dat je interne HDD niet stuk is?

Bovendien: waarom denk je dat je huidige systeem niet ondersteund was?
Heeft je huidige systeem wel een Recovery partitie? Geraak je trouwens met je iMac op Internet Recovery?

Zelfs nadat ik handmatig het gecrashte systeem had verwijderd en de prullenbak geleegd.

Hoe bedoel je? Hoe was je dan opgestart? Een actief systeem kan je namelijk helemaal niet trashen, dat zou al te gek zijn...

Het zit zo: Ik heb de originele 1Tb HD plus -op de plaats van de dvd-drive- een 1Tb SSD.
Omdat de SSD natuurlijk veel sneller is, stonden daar mijn systeem en de meeste bestanden op. Op de oude HD staan een versloft oud systeem (dat nog wel werkt) en minder vaak gebruikte bestanden.
Op deze manier draait de Imac dus nog wel en kan ik ook de SSD benaderen, en zo dus bij het gecrashte systeem. Ik kan ook externe schijven aankoppelen, zoals voor die back-up van vandaag en de via Firewire draaiende schijf met Time Machine.
Ik heb wel een recente TM-backup, maar ik vraag me af hoe ik die ook alweer heb ingericht. Ik herinner me dat je kon aanvinken welke elementen je wilt onderbrengen in TM. Zeker de bestanden en waarschijnlijk het systeem... Is dat nog op een of andere manier in te zien?

Dankzij jullie (vooral HEXDIY) en Time Machine ben ik weer up and running. TM heeft keurig de 'gekraakte' versie van Sierra teruggeplaatst. Mijn Imac is 'early 2009' en zou dus niet in aanmerking komen voor Sierra, maar dankzij onderstaand artikel lukte dat toch (en al drie jaar). De reden voor de upgrade was voor mij dat ik Apple Foto's 2.0 wilde gaan gebruiken.

Dit verklaart waarom ik aan de crsutil heb gezeten.

Ik heb Malwarebites gedraaid en (slechts) twee bedreigingen gevonden, en in quarantaine gezet.

Fijn dat het je gelukt is! Enne: als je systeem nu draait zoals je wil, zou ik er gewoon mee verder werken.
Anders ga je tegen grote kosten aanlopen (Adobe Creative suite bv, mogelijk ook je audio interfaces).

Qua veiligheid: draai zo af en toe Malwarebytes, en dat zit wel snor denk ik.

Ik miszie niet veel aan je Etrecheck. Maar waarom heb je Flash Player nog staan? Heb je dat nodig?
Silverlight mag ook weg.
CleanmyMac zou ik niet dadelijk gaan gebruiken, hoewel het geen malware is.
Van DiskWarrior zou ik eens nagaan welke versie je hebt. Zoals ik al zei kan een verouderde versie schadelijk zijn/ tot dataverlies leiden.

Het zit me niet helemaal lekker om met een gekraakte versie te werken, omdat ik al 3 jaar geen updates heb gehad. Weten jullie een alternatief, of... toch maar een nieuwe(re) imac kopen?

Kijk hier eens voor een 'update' van je MacOS.

Een nieuwe(re) Mac hoeft niet de hoofdprijs te kosten. Denk daarvoor ook eens aan een Mini of een MBP met extern 4k scherm (zoals deze of deze) in combinatie met muis en keyboard.
