Hallo allemaal,

Sinds een maand draait mijn beachball wat langer in mijn belangrijkste programma "Photoshop". Waar ik voorheen geen problemen had, moet hij nu telkens rekenen als ik een kloon actie doe of een gum activiteit? Ik heb daarom een Etrecheck uitgevoerd. Ik dacht dat het aan mijn Tom Tom applicatie lag of aan mijn G-data (virus checker voor MAC)? Allemaal in die tijd geïnstalleerd? Ik hoor graag advies van de kenners aan de hand van onderstaande gegevens wat ik kan proberen om mijn systeem weer een beetje up-to-date te houden. Desnoods wil ik hem hardware technisch opwaarderen. Waar kan ik zien in deze lijst of ik HD of een SSD heb of zoiets... Bedankt voor alle tips en opmerkingen hier

I used Photoshop all the time without any problems, but I suggest that, since TOM TOM or/and G-Data anti virus is installed, that my system is slowly. When Im busy with Photoshop now, the beach balling is more available than before.

Als je inderdaad MacKeeper (een bijna misdadig programma) op je HD hebt staan, is behalve het advies van fred44nl, het ook raadzaam eens Malwarebytes te draaien. Grote kans dat MacKeeper rotzooi op je computer heeft gezet.

En dat anti-virus programma wat je erop hebt staan (als je dat al nodig hebt), zou ik dat zo instellen dat het altijd uit is, en alleen gebruiken als het nodig is.

Hieruit blijkt dat het een Fusion Drive is. Dit is een combinatie van een SSD met een HDD. macOS zorgt er zelf voor dat veelgebruikte bestanden op de SSD komen en de rest op de HDD. Dit kan er ook zorgen dat je Mac trager wordt, doordat bestanden/programma's op de HDD staan in plaats van op de SSD.

MacKeeper heb je niet nodig, die maakt meer kapot dan je lief is én doet niets wat je Mac van zichzelf ook niet doet. gData is ook overbodig, ja nog steeds! Als je niet op allerlei obscure websites komt of allerlei vage apps download is er weinig aan de hand.

gData is ook een grootverbruiker van je RAM, dat heeft ook lichtelijk z'n uitwerkingen op de rest van het systeem.

Wel even benadrukken dat je eerste opruimprioriteit Mackeeper is.
Zoals al vermeld haal je die gelukkig moeiteloos weg met Malwarebytes Mac (handmatig opsporen en deleten is een helse zoektocht waar je niet aan wil beginnen):

Gebruik de gratis versie, de rest heb je niet nodig.
Mogelijk vindt Malwarebytes nog wat andere "bogies" die niet in het Etrecheck rapport te zien zijn.
Dat maakte ik deze zomer nog mee op de MacMini van een vriend.

Hdds in een Fusion Drive set-up lijken sneller te slijten, dan een enkele geplaatste hdd setup.

Bollocks. Allemaal welgemeende raad hier, maar de primordiale boosdoener is MacKeeper.

Bij enige melding ervan, search & destroy, & Malwarebytes Mac is je beste vriend daartegen.
