Objective Development (de maker van o.a. Little Snitch, nu in het nieuws i.v.m. ransomware die zich voordoet als dit programma – zie elders op deze site) heeft een klein gratis programma gemaakt dat ik nog niet kende, en dat wellicht anderen ook zal interesseren: Internet Access Policy (IAP) Viewer. Objective Development geeft de volgende toelichting:

"Internet Access Policy Viewer shows you which of your applications are already equipped with an Internet Access Policy. You can use it to find out where on the Internet your apps connect to and for what purpose they do so.

Have you ever wondered to which servers on the Internet the apps that are installed on your computer connect to, which data they send and for which purpose they are doing so?

The Internet Access Policy gives answers to these questions. It’s a privacy initiative that we’ve launched, inviting app developers to describe the Internet usage of their programs in a brief and easy to understand manner and to bundle this information right within their apps."

Een prima initiatief. Maar er lijken nog niet veel programma-makers te zijn die zich hierbij hebben aangesloten. Van de vele tientallen programma's op mijn HD beantwoorden behalve de programma's van Objective Development zelf alleen 1Password, Scrivener en Scapple aan deze norm (de laatste twee zijn van dezelfde maker).
