Well you're not such a nice guy either, holding hands with Adobe so lovingly and leaving Mac users no money for me to grab." - "Watch it Fred, I have this amazing iPress idea in my head and I'm thinking about not supporting Classic anymore on my new Macs..."

Er heerste even wat twijfel over de bron van een eerdere NieuwsFlits mb.t. Quark XPress.
Volledigheidshalve, Glen Turpin (Quark's voorlichtingsman), heeft aan Macworld UK gemeld:

“We haven't announced a date yet, and until we make a public announcement I can only tell you the usual: as always, quality is our number one consideration. Every release of QuarkXPress is tested extensively to ensure the highest level of functionality and reliability. [...]
With over two and a half million customers relying on QuarkXPress in their business, we prefer to err on the side of caution when we release a new upgrade. We will release the Mac OS X native version of QuarkXPress when we're confident that you'll be able to use it productively and reliably in your workflow. [...]
Andere vage 'bronnen' meldden een verwachte annoncering tijdens de MacWorld San Fracisco in januari 2003, en dat de versie een betaalde upgrade 6.0 wordt, en dat de bestaande plug-ins er niet mee zullen werken.

Meneer Turpin meldde ook nog even (wèl officieel, dus) dat Quark niet op de Parijse Apple Expo en (weer) niet op Seybold in San Francisco aanwezig zal zijn (beide op en rond 10 september). Ze zeggen dus niks en doen niks.
