Gisteren was er het nieuws dat Apple in Bangalore, India, een "iOS App Design and Development Accelerator" gaat starten, vandaag komt er nog meer nieuws uit datzelfde land.

Want ondertussen heeft Apple ook bekend gemaakt dat ze in Hyderabad, ook in India, een ontwikkelingscentrum gaan opstarten voor kaarten voor iPhone, iPad, Mac en Apple Watch. Daarbij gaat het waarschijnlijk om veel banen, dus werd dit initiatief met veel enthousiasme begroet.

Apple's CEO Tim Cook zei er het volgende over:

Apple is focused on making the best products and services in the world and we are thrilled to open this new office in Hyderabad which will focus on Maps development. The talent here in the local area is incredible and we are looking forward to expanding our relationships and introducing more universities and partners to our platforms as we scale our operations.

Dit nieuwe ontwikkelingscentrum zal op de Waverock campus gaan huizen, een foto daarvan kan je hieronder zien.



Telangana Eerste Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao is natuurlijk ook erg blij dat Apple deze lokatie gekozen heeft voor dit ontwikkelingscentrum.

We are honored Apple chose Hyderabad as a home for its Maps development office. This will create thousands of jobs here and is a testament to our proactive approach, quality infrastructure and the excellent talent base we have in the region.

Kennelijk gaat Apple in dit ontwikkelingscentrum samenwerken met het Indiase bedrijf RMSI, want in het persbericht van Apple hierover komt de CEO van dat bedrijf, Anup Jindal, ook aan het woord:

Apple is one of the most innovative companies in the world and we are very proud they chose us to partner with for this important project. We are experts in geospatial data and we will be hiring thousands of people from the local area to support this effort.
