Apple recently released a new version of Mac OS X, version 10.4.8. An issue has been identified that causes mathematical functions to incorrectly round or truncate numbers within applications running under Rosetta. This OS defect affects PowerGrade.
PowerGrade users running Mac OS X 10.4.8 on an Intel based Mac may experience the following issues:
Rounding errors - When rounding, final grade percentages will be rounded to the wrong decimal point, causing student grades to be calculated incorrectly.
Truncating percentages - Final grade percentages will be truncated to the wrong decimal point, causing student grades to be calculated incorrectly.
While investigation into the impact to the PowerGrade application as a result of this Mac OS X 10.4.8 issue is ongoing, it is recommended that PowerGrade users on Intel based Macs refrain from upgrading to Mac OS X 10.4.8. Further information will be provided when the issue is resolved in the Mac OS. Click below for instructions on downgrading to a previous version of Mac OS X.
