Sinds Sonoma heb ik regelmatig gedoe met mijn MacBookPro uit 2020.
Sonoma versie 14.5 (23F79) blijkt hinderlijk onwillig.
Al een keer geheel opnieuw geïnstalleerd.
Na een paar dagen was vanmorgen mijn desktop weer in de war: muis zoek. Na opnieuw opstarten werkt het weer.
Nu toch weer gedoe: delen van mijn netwerk vallen uit, zoals diverse Airports. Na een reset werken ze weer, maar waarom dat gebeurt is mij een raadsel.

Daarom gebruik ik het (nog) niet…

Een EtreCheck-rapport voor de specialisten onder ons zou helpen. Vaak ligt dit soort problemen niet aan het besturingssysteem, maar aan wat de gebruiker met de computer doet. Ik heb zelf probleemloos een Mac Mini M1, Mac Studio M1 en een MacBook Pro M3 onder Sonoma draaien in een uitgebreid netwerk, dus dat deze inmiddels al heel uitgerijpte versie van macOS per se onbetrouwbaar zou zijn herken ik i.i.g. niet. Maar goed, om je probleem opgelost te krijgen helpt het als je wat meer details verschaft.

Sinds ik Sonoma heb geïnstalleerd is er oorlog in Gaza, is er geen nieuw kabinet en regent het voortdurend...
Ik wil maar zeggen: hoe weet je dat deze problemen met Sonoma te maken hebben. Want ik zie 1-2-3 geen verband.
Dus misschien ze één voor één op te lossen?

@ Flix: Geestig. Dus ik los eerst de oorlog in Gaza op, vervolgens regel ik een nieuw kabinet en daarna  roep ik een regengoeroe in. En dan loopt Sonoma weer normaal. Dat helpt echt.

Sinds vanmorgen weigert mijn DVD lezer plotseling dienst. Geen idee waarom. Benieuwd of Etrecheck daar iets over zegt.

Die Paragon heeft wel de nodige rommel achtergelaten.
Is het de bedoeling dat dat er nog allemaal op staat?
Heb je dat ooit geïnstalleerd om NTFS schijven te kunnen gebruiken?

Die NTFS for Mac is bewust een keer opnieuw geïnstalleerd, dus die heeft geen rommel uit een oud OS meegenomen.

Juist, daar zit mijn verdenking ook.

Ik heb iets dergelijks nodig om schijven te kunnen formatteren en Ext3. Daarmee kan ik mijn Humax uitlezen. Sinds Somoma doet deze app raar. Paragon eist opnieuw installeren na de installatie van Sonoma en dat gaat mis.
Ik krijg die app met geen geweld verwijderd, misschien is daar een list voor.

Ik zit in een time squeeze, binnenkort sta ik voor een zaal een presentatie te houden, waarvoor nogal wat nodig is, bijvoorbeeld het binnenhalen van wat DVD's, voor filmfragmenten.
Sinds vanmorgen weigert mijn DVD lezer/schrijver plotseling dienst. Dwz, het ding doet alles, behalve een image vertonen in mijn Finder, dus ik kan niets.
Het is een Samsung Blu-ray lezer-schrijver SE 506, die het al jaren probleemloos doet.
Ik heb nu de hoop gevestigd op verlossende suggesties van MacFreak.

Valt me tegenwoordig steeds meer op. Mensen zoeken een oplossing voor een probleem en krijgen dan een z.g. lollig antwoord.

Er zijn inderdaad de nodige problemen gemeld met die NTFS driver van Paragon icm Sonoma, zie ik.

Ik wil maar zeggen: hoe weet je dat deze problemen met Sonoma te maken hebben. Want ik zie 1-2-3 geen verband.

Na de leukigheid kwam deze suggestie die mij juist lijkt.
Beetje beter lezen heren.

Toch weer wat gevonden:
Gebruikers van mijn DVD drive beklagen zich, dat het ding het niet doet met Windows10. Samsung leverde nog steeds geen weekende driver. Ik denk dus aan afvoeren naar de kringloop en een nieuwe bestellen.

Het zou dus zomaar kunnen, dat de verouderde driver ook niet werkt met Sonoma.
Wat ik er niet aan begrijp is, dat dat enkele dagen wel lukte.

Dan lijkt me het de beste keuze om zo snel mogelijk terug te gaan naar een oudere versie van macOS, vergeet niet een back-up van al je belangrijke data te maken.

Ik gebruik die Mac's vanaf 1985.
Dit zou de eerste keer worden dat ik achteruit zou vluchten.
De nieuwe DVD drive is al besteld.
Als die het ook niet doet gaat die terug en dan zien we wel weer.
