ABN Amro's OfficeNet Extra

I have recently purchased an I-mac OS X 10.6.4 and have installed Parrallels Desktop 5. I have then installed Windows XP so that I may operate ABN Amro's OfficeNet Extra (versie 1.7) program. Unfortunately, I cannot connect to the ABN Amro site as the connection is blocked. Presumably, by the correct port in my I-Mac. I switched off the Window's firewall and Norton 360 too but still no luck. Any suggestions?

Welcome to Holland, and welcome to the forum!

Looks like our International Bank only supports Windows for their OfficeNet Extra 1.7 program. But at least they have the user manual in English.

Do you only need to do your private banking (which just requires a web browser on OS X) or do you need the OfficeNet stuff too? (Probably the last...)

Are you able to connect to the Internet using Internet Explorer running in Parallels on your Mac? I.e. is it a general networking problem or specific to this banking application?

Thanks. No my private banking is fine. Its only the OfficeNet that I use for my business banking that is not working.

Parallels is working fine. I can use Internet Explorer and I am getting Windows updates regularly. Norton 360 updates too. Its only OfficeNet that does not connect. I get timed out with the error message that I cannot make contact with the server.

I understand from this document that OfficeNet uses ftp .

Are you able to use FTP on Windows? Maybe it gets blocked in your router/gateway.
