This is rather easy. Just perform the following:

1. Put your VM (.pvs and .hdd files) to some place visible to other users of Mac. I usually place them to Users->Shared.
2. Change the permissions of the .pvs and .hdd files in the following way: right-click the file, choose "Get Info…". In the window opened expand the "Ownership & Permissions" group and "Details" subgroup. Set the "Read & Write" access to "Others".

After that you'll be able to use the VM with other users of your Mac.

Ik heb alle Parallels spullen onder /var/Parallels neergezet, maar onder /Users/Shared kan natuurlijk ook perfect! Je moet alleen nog een shortcut/symlink maken van de Parallels folder in je eigen homedir naar de Parallels folder onder /Users/Shared.

Moet je dan ook nog meerdere gebruikers onder windows aanmaken: of hoe gaat dat dan?

Je Parallels "virtual machine" met Windows er op moet je zien als een complete, virtuele PC. De Windows installatie er op is compleet onafhankelijk van OS X of de gebruikers die je daar op hebt staan. Als jij meerdere gebruikers onder Windows wilt, dan moet je ook meerdere gebruikers aanmaken ja. Maar als dat je geen ruk kan schelen en het gaat je er alleen om dat je één of twee applicaties onder Windows wilt draaien, dan hoeft het natuurlijk niet.

En zoals ook gezegd moet je ook de toegang voor "Everyone" op read+write zetten. Waarschijnlijk heb je aanvankelijk de eigenaar van het bestand veranderd

1. Please Launch Parallels Desktop on the Administrator Account that is First user account and do not start the Virtual Machine and from the top menu bar click on Window and in the list right click on name of your Virtual Machine and select the option show in Finder and you will find the file with the extension .PVM in the Finder Window copy the .PVM file and browse to this location file MAC Hdd ==> Users ==> shared ==> Parallels and paste the .PVM file.

2. Open Terminal application from Finder ==> Applications ==> Utilities

3. Copy and paste the below mentioned command in Terminal
cd /Users/Shared
and hit Return key on your key board, after processing the first command

4. Next Copy and paste the below mentioned command in Terminal
sudo chmod -R og+rwx parallels
and hit return key on your key board. While performing this commands it will prompt to enter the Password, please enter your MAC password.

5. Log in to the Second user account on your MAC and browse to this location Finder ==> MAC Hdd ==> Users ==> shared ==> Parallels ==> double click on .PVM which we pasted recently and it will launch the Virtual Machine

Wat gebeurde was dat ik nu op twee plaatsen een VM heb. Windows 7 op mijn eigen account en Windows 7 (1) in de gedeeld map.
Vanuit mijn eigen account kan ik beide openen (na het openen van Windows 7 (1) via Finder), maar het lijkt me beter om alleen de Windows in de gedeelde map te gaan gebruiken en de andere weg te gooien.
