Dit is het verhaal wat ik destijds van Griffin kreeg.
There are a few instances where folks are upgrading to the new OS 10.2.8
and then finding that the iMic no longer functions. We have done some
testing and we have determined that the issue exists only with a very few
and limited number of iMics. These early iMics were first released over 3
years ago and were designed and released before the first versions of OSX
were available. When upgrading 10.2.8 this older version of the iMic will no
longer show up properly in the "SOUND" preference pane. Under the "INPUT"
tab the iMic will still show up as "iMic USB audio adapter" but in the box
labeled "Settings for selected device" it will say "there are no settings
available for the selected device". This is the condition that is caused by
the 10.2.8 update as it relates to this one particular version of the iMic.
If you are experiencing anything else that is not exactly as outlined here
then you are most likely having a separate issue with USB audio and you
should contact us directly for resolution.
The affected iMics can be easily identified by using the Apple System
Profiler to determine the exact model of the iMic you are using. To access
your system profiler all you have to do is click on your desktop to bring up
your finder. Now click on your Apple in the upper left hand corner of the
screen and go down to "about this Mac". Click once and a box will open.
Click on the button called "more info". When it opens click on the second
tab called "devices and volumes". Find the frame called " USB Information"
and follow the USB Bus tree from left to right until you find a device
called "iMic USB audio system". Click once on the triangle on the left and
the box will open.Look for the "product ID" info. It will give you a number.
If that number is "1056" then you have an older iMic that is effected by
this 10.2.8 OS upgrade from Apple.
We are offering a product exchange program that allow you to upgrade your
old iMic that is designed to support all versions of OSX that have been
released so far by Apple. The cost of the new iMic is only $15 plus
shipping. The full cost of the iMic is normally $39.99. The only iMic that
is eligible for this offer are the ones with the "1056" product ID. No other
iMics are effected by the 10.2.8 upgrade and so no other iMics can be
upgraded at this special price. All the iMics have the same audio specs and
quality. The early iMic just came out before OSX came out so it is not as
fully compatibly as the other iMic. We do not recommend any other solution
such as changing out drivers or any other such remedy as suggested by
several websites. We recommend that you allow us to upgrade your older iMic
to at newer one that will function correctly in the latest OS update from
Apple. You can contact us directly at 615-399-7000 M-F 9-6 central for the
quickest service.
