OS 9.x als server... windows share

Ik wil een powermac als server neerzetten en dan bestanden delen die ik via windows machines kan aanroepen. Maar hoe??? als ik het ip van die machine intype geeft windows een foutmelding dat hij hem niet kan vinden. Met OS-X werkt het wel, maar hoe doe ik dan met 9.x???

Eh...appleshareIP of gewone os9?


Appleshare IP zou kunnen met veel trucs.....

Gewone OS9 met extra tools.

OSX kan het standaard...

Appleshare IP en windows werkend te krijgen is geen feestje....

ik heb dat diverse keren gedaan en het werkte nooit echt lekker.

in 10.3 is het makkelijk, gewoon aanvinken windows-share en klaar. maar die optie mis ik zowel in 9.2.2 als in 10.1.4. En 10.3 kan niet op een g3-beige. Ik probeer het even met appleshare ip uit. Anders gooi ik er wel een Windows 98 bak neer.

OS 9 doet 'out of the box' geen windows (SMB) filesharing.
Daar heb je AppleshareIP of een andere commerciele tool voor nodig, zoals bijv. DAVE.

10.3 kun je op je beige installeren met behulp van Xpostfacto (http://eshop.macsales.com/OSXCenter/XPostFacto/Framework.cfm?page=XPostFacto.html), dat werkt hier in ieder geval.

En dan is er natuurlijkPC MACLAN. Dit is een pakket, dat Windows Apple Talk laat praten. Zo kan je als Windows gebruiker bestanden in een AppleShare-netwerk benaderen en ook printers gebruiken.  :biggrin:  :inlove:
