Je gebruikt de wellicht de buitenbeentjes BoomRecorder en SoundFlower. De eerste geen probleem, tenzij te oud voor je OSX versie, maar de tweede veroorzaakt vaak onverklaarbare heisa op OSX.

Oh ja,
je draait 10.10.4 Yosemite (OS X Yosemite 10.10.4 (14E46) Update). Ik wil wedden dat je te oude soft hebt gemigreerd die dat systeem laat vastlopen. Waaronder Boom Recorder (respect!) & andere Soundflower 74 apps.
Enne... geen gezaag, maar je laatste/ (mogelijk enige) kernel panic kwam van Firefox. Herstart eens en gebruik als browser Safari of Google Chrome. Werkt je Macje dan wel?
Of maak eens een ander account aan, en kijk of daaronder dezelfde problemen optreden. ( MacFreak Flixtest).

Gebeurt het toevallig ook met andere applicaties ? Ik acht het niet normaal dat een computer zomaar uit gaat, ongeacht de applicatie.

- valt deze uit alleen bij Firefox ?
- of bij andere applicaties k zo ja welke, of alle applicaties ?
- is het na n bepaalde tijdsduur ?

Ik zou ook zeker de hardware test doen met de cd/dvd. Kost je niets...

De iMac is van 2010. is het in de ruimte wel eens stoffig ? Anders even iMac uit... Stofzuiger met smalle tuut bovenaan en onderkant even met wat perslucht spuiten. Perslucht is bij een doe het zelf zaak of action voor weinig te halen.

Ik zie nu al dat je de nodige exotische drivers hebt geinstalleerd (bv BoomDevice) maar een EtreCheck overzicht geeft het complete plaatje.

Andere gegeven tips zijn ook de moeite van het proberen waar (AHT draaien).

Waarschijnlijk ben je nog het snelste uit de problemen door OS X opnieuw schoon te installeren. Daar zou je mooi deze regenachtige zaterdag voor kunnen gebruiken.
