Hoi allemaal,

De macbook van mijn vrouw heeft een vervelend probleem.
Het actieve venster van maakt niet uit welke software wordt na enkele seconden inactief en de balk wordt grijs. Dit is vervelend, want als ze bijvoorbeeld een mail schrijft is na enkele seconden de cursor weg en de tekst die ze dan aan schrijven is wordt dan niet meer aan de mail toegevoegd. Ze moet dan opnieuw op het venster klikken om het actief te maken om de mail te kunnen verder schrijven.

Betreft een Macbook air 13" A1466 met Macos Monterey.

Via systeem recovery heb ik Macos opnieuw geïnstalleerd, maar het probleem blijft.
Op internet heb ik enkele posts gevonden die spreken een app die zou crashen en hoe deze te vinden via activiteiten monitor (deze, deze en deze), maar deze hebben me niet verder geholpen.

Ik hoop dat de omschrijving van mijn mail duidelijk is.
Kan iemand mij op weg helpen naar een oplossing?

Hier mogelijk een aantal zaken om te controleren:

Het probleem dat je beschrijft, waarbij het actieve venster in macOS Monterey na enkele ogenblikken inactief wordt en de balk grijs kleurt, kan te maken hebben met de instelling voor “Automatisch wisselen tussen vensters”. Dit kan soms gebeuren als macOS automatisch overschakelt naar een ander proces of als er een focus-instelling is geactiveerd. Je kunt een paar dingen proberen om dit probleem op te lossen:

   1.   Schakel automatische bureaubladovergangen uit:
   •   Ga naar Systeemvoorkeuren > Mission Control.
   •   Vink de optie “Wanneer bureaubladen automatisch worden gewijzigd” uit.
   2.   Zorg ervoor dat je de vensterfocus behoudt:
   •   Soms verliest een venster de focus doordat een ander proces op de achtergrond aandacht vraagt. Zorg ervoor dat er geen andere applicaties zijn die zich automatisch naar de voorgrond bewegen of meldingen verzenden die focus verleggen.
   3.   Controleer actieve toepassingen:
   •   Controleer of er geen achtergrondtoepassingen of processen actief zijn die onverwachts de focus kunnen overnemen, zoals meldingen van apps of andere processen.
   4.   Start opnieuw op in veilige modus:
   •   Herstart de Mac in de veilige modus door je Mac opnieuw op te starten en meteen de Shift-toets ingedrukt te houden. Controleer of het probleem zich nog steeds voordoet. Als het probleem weg is in veilige modus, kan dit te maken hebben met een conflict tussen apps of instellingen.
   5.   Software-updates:
   •   Zorg ervoor dat je macOS Monterey volledig is bijgewerkt. Apple brengt regelmatig updates uit om bugs te verhelpen, en een update kan dit probleem oplossen.

Als deze stappen het probleem niet oplossen, kan het een dieper systeemprobleem zijn.

Bij geen resultaat zou je ook een Test-gebruiker kunnen aanmaken en met inloggen met die gebruiker kijken of het daar ook plaatsvindt. Dit is d.z.g.n. Flix-test.

Wat ook zou helpen is hier een Etrecheck rapport neerzetten.

Ik heb de nodige stappen uitgevoerd.
Zowel in safe mode en met flix test heb ik het probleem niet meer voorgehad.

Beste Jantje B: bedankt voor het EtreCheck rapport. Als het niet meer voorkomt in de “Veilige modus” en/of met de Flix test is mijn conclusie dat een extensie en/of één of meerdere programma’s elkaar in de weg zitten.

Je kunt twee dingen doen:

1. Overbodige programma’s verwijderen en dan kijken of het plots wordt opgelost;

2. Een schone installatie doen en de zaak ‘clean’ houden;

In een volgende post zal ik het EtreCheck rapport kenmerken met zaken die je beter niet kan gebruiken.

En ook hier is eigenlijk je systeem in de loop der jaren vervuild.

Wat bijvoorbeeld ook niet nodig is, is om MalwareBytes permanent ingeschakeld te hebben. Af en toe eens draaien volstaat.

Ik hoop wel dat je ‘ergens’ backup’s maakt.

Goed overdenken: heb ik die app wel nodig en/of hoe vaak gebruik ik die.

Tevens zou ik je partner een eigen account op die Macbook Air geven.

[je zou eventueel kunnen beginnen met een her-installatie van het systeem, met behoud van instellingen en data. Dat is niet zoveel werk via opstarten met R-toets of CMD-R (installeren vanaf internet) en indien zoopgestart, meeen even Schijf-EHBO doen]

Ik heb vandaag, nadat ik een nieuwe backup had gemaakt, een schone installatie gedaan en de macbook op haar account geregistreerd.
Etrecheck gaf geen major issues aan, enkel een minor dat er geen time machine actief is.
Maar dat is een bewuste keuze.
Probleem is opgelost en macbook draait weer soepeltjes.
