Met Apple File System (APFS) wordt schijfruimte op aanvraag toegewezen. Wanneer één APFS-container (partitie) meerdere volumes bevat*, wordt de vrije ruimte van de container gedeeld en kan de ruimte wanneer nodig aan een van de afzonderlijke volumes worden toegewezen.

Maar als ik een map of een los bestand op mijn Mac naar iCloud sleep, dan verdwijnt die van de Mac.
Nee hoor, dat klopt niet. Je verplaatst het naar de iCloud Drive folder. Dat is een lokale folder op je Mac én het staat daarmee in iCloud.
Dat betekent dus als ik het bestand wil wijzigen ik dit moet doen vanuit de iCloud map?
Nee, zeker niet! Dan ben je je foto's kwijt. Je foto's staan nooit alleen in iCloud. Als je de functie iCloud foto's gebruikt staat de fotobibliotheek nog steeds op je Mac. iCloud Foto's zorgt ervoor dat je foto's ook in iCloud staan en zo gesynchroniseerd worden met je andere devices.
Als hij zijn Mac leegmaakt om weg te geven (of wat dan ook) is hij toch ook dit bestand dus zijn foto's kwijt?
...blijven de foto's gewoon in iCloud staan en kunnen weer met een andere Mac worden gesynchroniseerd...
Maar als men nu alleen een iPad en/of iPhone heeft (dus geen Mac), maakt dan dat device zelf de Fotobibliotheek aan? Staat dat bestand dan ook ergens op de iPad of iPhone of alleen in iCloud?
