De bestanden verwijderd. Herstart en hij startte in een keer op zonder te herstarten.

Ik zet hem straks uit en probeer nog na een uurtje weer op te starten... ben benieuwd.

Wat mij nog niet 100% duidelijk is, is dat het vastlopers zijn met spontane herstart of dat je zelf een herstart doet en de Mac vervolgens niet meer wilt opstarten.

Je kan deze na 5 minuten zelf stoppen als de iMac niet vast gelopen is.

Wat mij nog niet 100% duidelijk is, is dat het vastlopers zijn met spontane herstart of dat je zelf een herstart doet en de Mac vervolgens niet meer wilt opstarten.

Als ik hem opstart dan herstart hij. Soms kan ik net aan inloggen, soms herstart hij al nadat de opstartbalk is geladen, soms kan ik inloggen safari of iets anders openen en dan valt hij weer uit.
Na dit een keer of 5/6 te hebben gedaan functioneert hij weer goed.

Wow, ik zou het dan echt niet weten. Ik opteer voor TimeMachine backup maken en daarna een hd wis en installeer actie te doen.

Bijzonder probleem.

Ik heb vandaag de HD gewist en OS High Sierra opnieuw geïnstalleerd.

Helaas nog steeds hetzelfde probleem...

Heeft iemand nog suggesties?

Misschien een zeer naïeve vraag, niettemin: zou het aan het toetsenbord kunnen liggen? Want ik vind het vreemd dat het probleem nog blijft, zelfs na herinstallatie. Dan zou de oorzaak toch buiten de computer moeten zitten?

Ik blijf bij mijn eerdere conclusie... Zeker wanneer de iMac in veilige modus gewoon opstart.

Jij houdt het bij de videokaart?

Ik zit zelf nog te denken aan de voeding... maar ik heb de imac ook al een keer aangesloten op een ander stopcontact en het probleem bleef.

Ik vind het ook raar dat hij nar 4/5 keer opstarten wel gewoon functioneert. 

Zodra je in veilige modus kunt opstarten kun je de voeding uitsluiten.

Heb je al een uitgebreide Apple Hardware Test gedaan (AHT)?

Ik heb de AHT gedaan en daar kwam niks uit.
