Ik heb geprobeerd dit te omzeilen door de volgende knoppen ingedrukt te houden (altijd in combi met shift dus..): alt, cmd, space, esc, ctrl, c. Dit helpt helaas niet.Ik heb een witte MacBook uit 2009, met 10.10.2 yosemite.

Dank voor je reactie. Je hebt gelijk. Hardwarematig. Het is inderdaad zichtbaar in de toetsenbordweergave. En ook een los toetsenbord werkt niet helaas. Het programma dat ik gevonden heb is KeyRemap4MacBook. Ik weet uiteraard nog niet of het werkt, maar het lijkt van wel, als ik andere fora mag geloven.
Mocht je nog een tip te binnen schieten, dan hoor ik het graag!
Fix1. Hold the Option button down on boot to bypass the Safe Mode ensure a normal boot2. At the login screen, plug in a USB keyboard and enter your password to login3. Change your password to one that uses all caps and no numbers4. Download and install KeyRemap4MacBook .5. Use a combination of the functionalities of the Keyboard Viewer and KeyRemap4MacBook to figure out which shift key is the problem. In my case, I found out that it was only my left shift key.6. Disable the left/right shift key on KeyRemap4MacBook and click on the 'Reload XML' button to make that take effect.
Maar... Inmiddels werkt alles weer! De CMD+R en Firmware wachtwoord waren de oplossing. Daarna met KeyRemap4MacBook de shift toets unabled en 'fn' ingesteld als nieuwe shift-toets.
Veel dank voor het meedenken!En wellicht nog een nieuw toetsenbord aanschaffen, maar nu ik kan in ieder geval morgen weer gewoon aan het werk
