Sinds kort zijn er op sommige websites in Safari de afbeeldingen niet zichtbaar, bv op https://www.gudrunsjoden.com/nl-nl/kleding/alle-kleding
Op de iPad zijn ze wel te zien. Google is hierin niet mijn beste vriend en ook Apple geeft geen oplossing.
BTW de site is in Firefox niet eens te openen.

Bij mij zijn ze gewoon zichtbaar in Safari op de MacBook.
Het zal dus iets met jouw instellingen en/of met je verbinding te maken hebben.
Wellicht laadt de website traag op de Mac? Al lijkt dat niet waarschijnlijk omdat het op je iPad wel goed gaat.
Ik zou eens kijken bij Safari->instellingen-> websites->content blockers.

Er staat zó vaak f-secure in je EtreCheck dat ik dat ook zeker zou willen weten. Opnieuw checken dus. Verder is de Flix test belangrijk: zie je dan wel plaatjes ligt het aan software op je Mac die het veroorzaakt. Verder zie ik bij etc/hosts staan: count: 30. Normaal heb je maar 1 'hosts' file met geen entries. Geen idee welke app dat veroorzaakt heeft. In dat bestand kunnen DNS uitzonderingen staan van websites/ip nummers. Vaak gebruikt om reclame te omzeilen, maar met te strenge vermeldingen kun je ook dingen gaan missen.

Het lijkt ook dat je MalwareBytes Realtime protectie aan hebt staan. MalwareBytes is prima, maar de realtime optie is nergens voor nodig, uitzetten dus. Verdere dingen die in het algemeen de boel kunnen ontregelen: Safari extensies, Little Snitch achtige apps, handmatig andere DNS servers ingesteld, reclamefilters, (virus)scanners etc. Van een aantal heb je al gezegd dat je ze niet hebt maar ik zou toch eens goed nagaan of je niet iets over het hoofd ziet.

Je router herstarten kan ook geen kwaad. Je weet maar nooit..

De flix test geeft dezelfde uitkomst. MalwareBytes Realtime protectie staat niet aan en hieronder staat de laatste EtreCheck. Dus vrienden kauwen maar!

Welke Safari versie draai je? Heb zo’n vermoeden dat het WebP beelden zijn, je draait Catalina en je hebt minstens Big Sur nodig als je Safari 14.0 tot 15.6 gebruikt.

..en zo te zien zijn de plaatjes op de gelinkte website in de eerste post inderdaad in 'webp' formaat. Een andere browser zou dan wel moeten werken.

Wat was er mis met Firefox Heiman Alberda? Laadt die alleen de genoemdede site niet en andere wel? Heb je de laatste versie van FF?

Vrienden hou maar op. Ik heb Catalina (is ongeneeslijk volgens de Macdokter) en Safari 15.6.1. Ook in FF is de desbetreffende website niet goed zichtbaar, dus we houden het er maar op dat het een slecht geschreven website is waar ik, in de mij resterende Catalina tijd, maar mee moet leren leven.

Catalina/Safari kun je niet beter maken maar het is geen 'slecht geschreven website', hij maakt juist gebruik van de laatste techniek. En Firefox ondersteunt wél het betreffende plaatjes-formaat. Je gebruikt of een te oude versie of er is iets anders aan de hand. Maar uiteraard: jouw keus om het zo te laten .

Inderdaad. Het ligt aan de (oudere) versie van Safari, welke geen webp afbeeldingen ondersteunt. Goed gezien van @TLM.
