Vandaag heb ik mijn nieuwe printer opgehaald, een Canon Pixma MP620 (printer zou via WIFI kunnen printen). Nu heb ik deze ingesteld 'volgens het boekje'. En het werkt ook allemaal vlekkeloos, zo kan ik de printerkop reinigen (opdracht draadloos verstuurd), testpagina's afdrukken en zelfs scannen werkt al (ik krijg daadwerkelijk draadloos het bestand op mn MacBook Pro binnen wat ik zojuist gescand heb). Je zou denken dat 'printen' dan ook werkt, maar helaas, dit werkt dus niet.

Dus alle (draadloze) communicatie werkt, behalve printen...

Op google diverse website opgezocht, maar die gingen niet een van allen over het beschreven probleem... Iemand een oplossing of idee waar het aan zou kunnen liggen?

'Doet het niet' is een tikje vaag. Krijg je een foutmelding? Of gebeurt er gewoon helemaal niks?

Ik krijg in mijn Dock een springend printer icoontje, als ik die open staat er 'printer is offline'.

En, om het MacFreak archief compleet te maken: wat was de oplossing?!?!

Een wilde gok: klikken op bovenstaande link en de lange post met 14 punten afwerken?  

Dûûûh.....

Dat zoekt niet zo makkelijk in het MacFreak archief! Wanneer de oplossing in MacFreak staat, kun je de oplossing met zoekopdrachten op MacFreak vinden!

Voor Frankie:

1) Click the 'Apple' button in the upper left-hand corner
2) Choose 'System Preferences...'
3) Click the 'Show All' button at the top to make sure you are seeing all the options
4) Under the 'Personal' heading, pick the 'Security' button
5) There are 3 tabs at the top, choose 'Firewall'
6) There are 3 options, try picking 'Allow all incoming connections' (the first option). IMPORTANT: this will make your computer less secure if you don't eventually change this setting back to 'Allow only essential services' so please remember to do that after you finish (see step 13).
7) Now that your firewall is disabled, lets try to add the printer
8) Click the 'Show All' button again to get back to main System Preferences page
9) Under the 'Hardware' section, choose the 'Print and Fax' button
10) If you see the 'MP620' series under the printers list on the left, delete it by selecting it and pressing the '-' button underneath.
11) Insert the Canon CD and repeat the install process (or download the drivers from the canon website). Please be sure to follow all the directions in the manual but this time it should work.
12) Check that the printer works. If not, there are other things you can try, just post a response and I will follow up.
13) Re-enable your firewall by selecting the 'Allow only essential services' tab under the 'Firewall' tab of the 'Security' menu. Apparently the firewall should detect that the printer's internet traffic is harmless and continue to allow it.
14) Check that the printer still works. If it doesn't, you will need to either keep your firewall disabled or set an exception. That is a little more complicated and I can post those directions if somebody asks about them.

Leg mij dan maar eens uit via welke zoekopdracht je bovenstaande zou gaan vinden!

@Godfather: Dank! Het is niet voor mij, maar hoe completer het archief, hoe nuttiger het is "voor het nageslacht"!

Iets wat het zoeken tot vinden kan maken is een vermelding als:
Canon IJ Network Tool

(Die stond helaas niet in de tekst die Godfather gekopieerd heeft.)

Voor mij persoonlijk was de oplossing: de printer verwijderen in m'n preference panel 'Afdrukken en faxen'. Vervolgens m'n firewall gedeblokkeerd, printer toegevoegd en m'n firewall weer aanzetten.

That's it!

En nu, printen als een malle!
