sudo sysctl -w net.inet.tcp.delayed_ack=0
2. Two readers confirmed the workaround of using smb://share:139 to log into an SMB server from Snow Leopard, to get around file sharing problems. Jordon Cheung said "Just wanted to say a quick thanks for writing up the below tip. It worked like a charm!"
3. A reader (name withheld by request) updated his previous tip on fixing slow SMB file sharing by turning off notify in the nsmb.conf file. Here, he provides the steps needed to do this:
To clear some things up here are step-by-step commands to run to disable notify_off in nsmb.conf file, doesn't sound like the people who responded turned the notify off:
Enable "root" user and set password (In 10.6.x go under System Preferences, then under Accounts, then under Login Options to get to Open Directory Utility)
Open "Terminal" and type "su root" and then type in the root credentials. Should notice command prompt change to something like "sh-3.2#".
After you are logged in as root type "cd /etc"
Then type: touch nsmb.conf
Then Type: sudo echo "[default]" > /etc/nsmb.conf
Then Type: sudo echo "notify_off=yes" >> /etc/nsmb.conf
Then run "pico nsmb.conf" too view the file, should look like the following:
[default]
notify_off=yes
Type "ctrl+x" to exit out of pico.
Restart
Weet niet of het helpt wanneer je helemaal niet meer kan verbinden, maar het helpt in zekere mate wel trage verbindingen op te lossen.
