Dus de verkopen liepen niet terug, in tegendeel. Maar dat gebeurde wel in januari en februari omdat veel mensen wisten dat er een nieuw model aankwam. Net zoals de verkopen iPhone 4 terugliepen kort voor het uitbrengen van de iPhone 4S.

En net zoals bij de iPhone 4S zijn de verkopen van de nieuwe iPad zeer indrukwekkend, want Apple heeft in de eerste drie dagen sinds het uitkomen op vrijdag maar liefst meer dan drie miljoen stuks van de nieuwe iPad verkocht (hoeveel er in de afgelopen dagen van de iPad 2 zijn verkocht wordt niet eens vermeld). En dat is een nieuw record, maar ook dat is iets wat we van Apple al bijna verwachten.

Als dit ongelofelijke tempo volgehouden zou worden dan zou Apple over zo'n twee weken dus al meer hebben verkocht dan in het laatste kwartaal van 2011 en over ruim een maand evenveel als in heel 2011.

New iPad Tops Three Million

The new iPad Wi-Fi models are available in black or white for a suggested retail price of $499 (US) for the 16GB model, $599 (US) for the 32GB model, $699 (US) for the 64GB model. iPad Wi-Fi + 4G for either AT&T or Verizon is available for a suggested retail price of $629 (US) for the 16GB model, $729 (US) for the 32GB model and $829 (US) for the 64GB model. iPad is sold in the US through the Apple Online Store (www.apple.com), Apple’s retail stores and select Apple Authorized Resellers.
