iPhone 6 128 GB heeft soms problemen
Een kleine twee weken geleden
meldde AppleInsider dat sommige gebruikers van een
iPhone 6 of iPhone 6 Plus met 128 GB aan opslag daar problemen mee hebben. Daarbij linkten ze naar
dit draadje op de Apple Support Communities.
Of het een probleem is wat vaak voorkomt is niet duidelijk, het draadje telt tot nu toe maar 13 pagina's en dat is voor de Apple Support Communities niet zo heel erg veel.
Het is nog niet duidelijk of dit nu echt een structureel probleem is , maar BusinessKorea
vraagt zich ondertussen al af of het tijd is voor Apple om al deze modellen terug te roepen. Want volgens hen gaat het om een structureel probleem:
Some in the industry point out that considering that technical defects mainly occur in the 128GB version of the iPhone 6 Plus, there might be a problem in the controller IC of triple-level cell (TLC) NAND flash. TLC flash is a type of solid-state NAND flash memory that stores three bits of data per flash media cell. It can store two to three times as much data as a single-level cell (SLC) that stores one bit of data and a multi-level cell (MLC) solid-state flash memory that stores two bits of data. Moreover, TLC flash is more affordable. However, TLC is slower than SLC or MLC in reading and writing data. To reduce cost, Apple reportedly used TLC NAND flash in the 128GB version of the iPhone 6+ and some other models.
We weten natuurlijk helemaal nog niet zeker of het die NAND flash is die het probleem is, wel is bekend dat Samsung daarmee ook problemen zou hebben met de 840 en 840 EVO SSD's en daar met een firmware update voor zou komen.
Mocht dat laatste voor de iPhone 6 en 6 Plus met 128 GB opslag de oplossing zijn dan zat die kennelijk nog niet in iOS 8.1, want het probleem zou daardoor nog niet verholpen zijn.
Mocht jij toevallig iemand zijn die deze problemen herkent, dan raden we je aan om daar niet mee te blijven doormodderen, maar gewoon contact met Apple opnemen en aanspraak maken op de garantie. Want die garantie die heb je natuurlijk niet voor niets.
Update: We kwamen
op deze pagina van AppleInsider de volgende tekst tegen:
a source close to Apple has clarified that user-reported issues with large capacity iPhone 6 models are very rare, and that the company does not have any plans to recall the phones due to "faulty hardware," and that there is not a defect in the Anobit components those models use. The source of the rumor is a minor publication in Korea that is said to have close ties to Samsung.
Users experiencing problems should report issues to AppleCare, but shouldn't be concerned about the rumors of "faulty hardware." The issue is likely to be addressed in a future iOS update, but AppleInsider could not determine a specific schedule for when the issue might be addressed.
