Naast de Nokia-Apple controverse heeft Apple nu HTC voor de rechter gedaagd.
Aan de orde is de claim van Apple dat HTC ten minste 20 patenten van Apple schendt.

Zoals Steve Jobs het verwoordde in de persverklaring:

"We can sit by and watch competitors steal our patented inventions, or we can do something about it. We've decided to do something about it. We think competition is healthy, but competitors should create their own original technology, not steal ours."

Kunnen we het hier hebben over Apple vs. Google? Want de Nexus One en de myTouch staan er ook bij, en dat zijn telefoons die op Google Android draaien.

Apple moet trouwens wel voorzichtig zijn, want de aanklagende partij in dit soort zaken wint het niet altijd in de publieke opinie...

Een goede samenvatting van alle patenten die in de rechtszaak van toepassing zijn is trouwens hier te lezen.

Wat die publieke opinie betreft: als het echt een
duidelijk patent is van een origineel briljant idee denk ik
dat er veel begrip is. Maar zoals bijvoorbeeld indertijd Adobe
bepaalde tabjes patendeerde dan juist weer niet.
