De laatste, en relatief kleine, update voor de MacBook Air was in juni 2017, en de stilte rondom dit model sindsdien zorgde voor veel speculaties dat dit model helemaal zou verdwijnen en door de MacBook vervangen zou worden. Maar niets bleek vandaag minder waar.

Want Apple heeft nu compleet nieuwe modellen van de Air uitgebracht, waaraan op het eerste gezicht vooral de nieuwe kleuren en het grote 13-inch Retina Display opvallen. Die kleuren zijn trouwens Spacegrijs, Goud en Zilver. Tegelijkertijd werd deze laptop nog iets dunner, nog iets lichter en nam de tijd dat je er mee kan werken zonder dat je met het lichtnet verbonden moet zijn nog wat toe.


Jammer genoeg zijn de prijzen ook wat omhoog gegaan, erg dicht in de buurt van wat de MacBook Air bij het uitkomen ook koste. Hieronder vind je de specs van beide nieuwe modellen, inclusief de prijzen:

Prachtig ding. Stond op het punt hem te bestellen..maar..hij is zo veel duurder geworden, dat hij maar 150 euro scheelt met de 13" Macbook Pro. Dat slaat natuurlijk nergens op..

Gelukkig is de basis MBA nog te koop bij een aantal winkels. Een MBA 13 inch met i5 1,8 dual core voor 945....... of de nieuwe MBA met 1,6 dual core i5 voor 1349....
Verschil dus 400 euro is best wel een flinke stap omhoog voor wel weer een mooie laptop.

Prachtige design.
De prijs sluit goed aan bij de steeds duurder wordende iPhones, premium+
Opvallend dat er 2 usb-c poorten aanwezig zijn. Kennelijk is 1 toch iets te minimalistisch. En mini jack..? Die snap ik niet.

(oude model is ook nog te koop, bij Apple, zie ik).

Allemachtig... Wat is er gebeurd met de instappers? De Air al flink in prijs omhoog en de Mac mini ook zo... Wegjagen van potentiële klanten is natuurlijk ook een optie...

Jammer dat de magsafe power-adapter nu helemaal is verdwenen. de nieuwe poort is handig, maar voorkomt minder makkelijk dat je macbook van tafel of bank trekt als je aan het touwtje blijft hangen en ik moet zeggen, dat gebeurt toch nog wel een keer per jaar.

.. dat hij maar 150 euro scheelt met de 13" Macbook Pro. Dat slaat natuurlijk nergens op..
