I do believe that audio engineers reap tremendous rewards by using high-resolution specifications during recording sessions but that doesn’t mean that delivering 96 kHz/24-bit WAV or FLAC files to consumers makes any perceptible difference in the final listening at home.
Some of these tracks ( 01, 10, 11, 14 ) are clearly upsampled from a 44.1 or 48 kHz source. (Evidenced by having no content above 22.05/24 kHz (excluding noise)Some tracks have strong sources of EMI/RFI: 04, 05, 07 13, 14, 15 (Evidenced by "straight lines" of strong signal. This may also be an artifact of upsampling)Some tracks are clearly resampled DSD: 03, 05, 11. (Evidenced by having strongly increasing high-frequency noise and a band of relative silence).
Thus, I would assume the issue is not with Apple devices but with amplifier.
This can only lead to the conclusion that there is a bug in the software of the Hegel H120.
