Listas,

Hello All,

It has been an interesting last few months, to say the least.  We were close
to releasing Slick volumes 11 & 12 for iMovie, when Apple "changed" the
world of iMovie plug-ins.  We've scrapped that work, and started figuring
out the next products we should create.

We're now close to releasing a new set of plug-ins for Final Cut
Express/Pro.  It has been a major effort - learning a new API, figuring out
how to do more than we could in iMovie, and making things much simpler than
other Final Cut plug-ins.  I'm excited to see result - high quality, lots of
variety, great performance, and the ease of use we strived to achieve.

If you are a Final Cut Express/Pro user and have interest in being a beta
tester for our new plug-ins, please send me a note.

Hope that all is well with all.  And thanks again for your support over the
years.

---Bruce

Hi Hans,

Thanks for your message.  I'll add you to our beta list.  We haven't stopped
with iMovie - hopefully this is just a pause until Apple provides us with a
way to support iMovie '08, or give us a stronger indication about the future
of iMovie 6.  We're still committed to supporting our current customers, and
there are still a good number of folks sticking to iMovie HD 6 and buying
the Slick software (just not as many as before).

Thanks again and I'll be in touch soon.

Hi All,

We're getting closer to completing our first set of plug-ins for Final Cut
Pro and Final Cut Express.  We call this new line "SlickFX", after the
FXPlug architecture that is common between FCP (5 and later) and FCE (4 and
later).

We've taken some of the favorite transitions, titles, and effects from the
Slick iMovie line, enhanced them with new controls, and integrated them
nicely into Final Cut.  Our goal was to provide great quality, variety and
versatility in these plug-ins, but without the complexity that often
intimidates users.

We're also working on a bunch of demo reels and tutorials that show what you
can do with these plug-ins.  I'll keep you up to date as these progress.

Thanks again for looking at these plug-ins, and I'm very interested in any
and all feedback you can provide.  We've tested these internally and found
them to be very stable, but we have a limited number of systems.  Let me
know what things can be improved, and how you can envision using these.

Our plan is to offer these at an introductory price of $99.95 (normally
$129), so I'd like your feedback on this, too.  Of course, you will get the
final version at no charge.

Take care and have a great weekend.

Bruce
