Hello,
A new directive called the Second Payment Services Directive (PSD2) may change the way you pay online. You may have to use SMS or a separate app in order to complete a transaction, which may cause the checkout process to take longer. This may include the purchase of content or products from apple.com, the App Store, iTunes and Apple services like Apple Music and Apple TV+.
But the built-in security features of Apple Pay already satisfy these new requirements. That means with Apple Pay you can avoid extra steps at checkout for an experience that is more secure than paying with just your credit or debit card.
If you haven’t set up Apple Pay, just open the Wallet app on your iPhone and tap + to add a card.
To take advantage of the simplicity and security of Apple Pay when paying for all things Apple, add it as a payment method.* It’s easy to do and only takes a few seconds. Simply open Settings on your iPhone, select your Apple ID, and tap Payment & Shipping. You can then use your preferred debit or credit card to simply and securely pay for games, apps and in-app purchases, as well as iTunes, Apple Music and more.
In addition, some other payment options, including the App Store & iTunes Gift Card, remain unaffected by these new requirements.
You can learn more about the new requirements here.
Yours sincerely.
