This may be old news for many, but I was reading this thread and noticed the comment about Panther's DVD player not presenting the DTS stream via Toslink output - in my experience, this is not the case - I have the Logitech 680 system and with the Apple DVD player in Mac OS X 10.3, I can select DTS audio (on the DVDs that have them, of course!) and then the Logitech display shifts to indicate "DTS" - sounds great, by the way. And selecting a dolby digital track causes the display to shift to DD - you DO have to enable "digital out" in the DVD player prefs, it's not that way by default (initially confused me). Hope this helps clarify things.
