Beste mensen,
Mijn originele probleem:
I've had my HP Photosmart printer/scanner for a few months now and have been very happy with it. Ever since having a new harddisc installed into my iMac 27 inch (newest OS on it) the scanner keeps saying
"Make sure the printer software is installed on your computer and that 'scan to computer' is enabled via the printer software'.
Now as far as I know, I have downloaded the right software. I have the HP Utility icon in my dock, which, when opened, shows
"Information and Support" (supplies status and info, device information, test, clear printheads and align)
"Printer Settings" (Network settings, additional settings, and auto-off)
and "Message Center", which shows a list of messages from the printer/scanner.
So nothing from there where I could find that 'scan to computer' button. I also have, in my dock, the HP Scan 3 icon, from which I should be able to scan. When I click on 'scan' though, through that, I get a message saying
"Scanner reported an error: An error occurred while communicating with the scanner"
So in short; there should be a button somewhere which I should be able to enable, saying "scan to computer", but I can't find it anywhere. (I do remember in the past indeed finding that button and enabling it. Now it's nowhere to be found). I do think this is the problem, because otherwise the device works fine in terms of printing. Also, it HAS worked fine in the past too.
Can anyone please help me with this?
Thanks in advance,
Kris
